Bottling Checklist and Steps

Materials:
– Bottling Bucket w/spigot
– Tubing and bottling wand
– Bottle Caps
– Bottle Capper
– Corn Sugar
Bottling Day

1. Measure 5 ounces of corn sugar into 3 cups water, bring to boil and cool to 65 degrees F.
2. Wash bottles and drain
3. Sanitize bottling bucket and all bottles – allow bottles to drain on bottle tree
4. Get bottling bucket and bench situation for siphon along with spigot and tubing
5. Sanitize siphon, spigot, tubing, and bottle caps
*** NOTE: MAKE SURE SPIGOT ON BOTTLING BUCKET IS CLOSED BEFORE NEXT STEP
6. Add corn sugar solution to bottling bucket
7. Siphon beer into bottling bucket carefully – try not to splash while draining
8. After all beer is in bottling bucket, stir gently with spoon to mix sugar with beer
9. close lid and begin bottling and capping
10. Create and print labels
11. Cut out labels
12. Prepare milk in dish to run labels through
13. Apply labels to bottles and dab with paper towel
14. Put beers in cartons/boxes
15. Allow beer in bottles to condition properly before opening
2-3 weeks for regular beers – 4-6 min for HG beers
16. Bottles may be cold conditioned after the regular conditioning time has passed
