Bottling List and Steps
Materials:
- Bottle Tree
- Sanitizing Solution
- Bottling Bucket w/spigot
- Tubing and bottling wand
- Bottle Caps
- Bottle Capper
- Corn Sugar
Bottling Day – Steps
- Measure 5 ounces of corn sugar into 3 cups water, bring to boil and cool to 65 degrees F.
- Wash bottles and drain
- Sanitize bottling bucket and all bottles – allow bottles to drain on bottle tree
- Get bottling bucket and bench situation for siphon along with spigot and tubing
- Sanitize siphon, spigot, tubing, and bottle caps
*** NOTE: MAKE SURE SPIGOT ON BOTTLING BUCKET IS CLOSED BEFORE NEXT STEP
- Add corn sugar solution to bottling bucket
- Siphon beer into bottling bucket carefully – try not to splash while draining
- After all beer is in bottling bucket, stir gently with spoon to mix sugar with beer
- Close lid and begin bottling and capping
- Create and print labels
- Cut out labels
- Prepare milk in dish to run labels through
- Apply labels to bottles and dab with paper towel
- Put beers in cartons/boxes
- Allow beer in bottles to condition properly before opening
2-3 weeks for regular beers – 4-6 min for HG beers - Bottles may be cold conditioned after the regular conditioning time has passed
