The half blood knot shown below is the one that I have used for years to tie line to hooks, weights, and swivels. My Dad slowly and carefully gave me a demonstration on how to tie the knot to a hook. I was 16 years old. I’ve used it for many years since. However, the Palomar knot seems to be the knot used in preparing many commerically rigs. I’m planning on using the Palomar on my surf casting rigs.
